The building of Dnieper HPP-1 contains nine main hydroelectric units with a capacity of 72 MW each, as well as a hydroelectric auxiliary unit with a capacity of 2.6 MW. As of 2022, three obsolete hydroelectric units were not working and were in the process of being replaced. The condition of these hydroelectric units may have been close to startup, but not anymore...

The building of the hydroelectric power plant of the second stage (Dnieper HPP-2) is 227.6 m long and is located on the left bank. There are eight hydroelectric units, working at a design head of 34.3 meters, of which five have a capacity of 120 MW, one - 119 MW and two - 104.5 MW.

At the time of the attack 10 to 11 generators were working at Zaporizhzhya HPP. One generator is used for the needs of the HPP only.
