Castillo's sentence in Peru is prolonged despite raging protests

After being deposed and jailed on charges of insurrection, Pedro Castillo, the former president of Peru, will remain behind bars for the duration of his 18-month pre-trial detention, a judicial body within the Supreme Court decided.
