PM Lee to officiate launch of two Singapore Navy submarines in Germany
1 year ago
Singapore is refreshing its naval fleet with the launch of two new submarines tomorrow. Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will officiate at the event on the sidelines of bilateral meetings in Germany. He will be joined by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. The Type 218SG submarines will replace the navy's ageing vessels, which have been operating for more than two decades. The 28-crew vessels can stay under water 50% longer and carry a wider range of mission payloads.
