"The worst is yet to come, and 2023 will seem like a recession to a lot of people".
Pierre Olivier Gourinchas' the significant downturn in the global economy and its dependence on international commerce were highlighted in the IMF's World Economic Outlook, which was published in October 2022.

It sparked debate about whether the numerous advantages of globalization exceed the geopolitical issues they have exacerbated.
The most recent round of globalization has encountered strong opposition. Whole industries have vanished as a result of technical advancements, resulting in significant job losses. Globalization has also, at least in part, been linked to increased inequality and worker exploitation.

"Do you know how bubbles form in the stock market? There is a correction after that "said Boston University's Global Development Policy Center director and economist Kevin Gallagher. "We're attempting to fix the globalization bubble," the speaker said.
