Jeff Cooper's presentation at the 2022 Southwest Kiln Conference made a lot of people think about using salt fluxes in primitive pottery for the first time. https://youtu.be/70CPfsCI7ho
This made me realize that these natural, salt fluxes could be used as a fixative on mineral pottery paint, allowing the paint to melt into and fuse with the clay body in the firing. In this video I go way down the rabbit hole of primitive fluxes. Testing out different recipes and materials and then test firing to see results.
