Eva Chipiuk spills the tea on the Emergencies Act Inquiry

In this episode Constitutional Lawyer Leighton Grey and Eva Chipiuk have a conversation about her experience as a lawyer and how she came to be a Yoga practitioner, what inspired her to get involved with the Emergencies Act Inquiry, and some of the dramatic “mic-drop” moments of her line of questioning during the inquiry.

Eva holds a Bachelor of Science, a Law Degree, and a Master of Laws in Alternative Dispute Resolution. Her unique education has empowered her with a creative and holistic approach to representing clients and protecting their rights. Eva’s experiences have inspired a distinct approach to the law, problem solving, and addressing her client needs.

In 2010, Ms. Chipiuk was challenged with an unexpected diagnosis of an extremely rare form of pancreatic cancer, requiring life saving surgery. As a result of this experience, In March of 2012, Eva took a break from law and travelled the world to focus on wellness. Upon returning to her practice she found a reignited passion for defending civil liberties and the rights and freedoms of Canadians.

Eva’s experience ranges from representing landowners whose land is affected by industry or government development; such as roads, landfills, power plants; and electrical transmission infrastructure as well as making regular appears before various Alberta boards and tribunals, including the Alberta Utilities Commission, the Alberta Energy Regulator, and the Surface Rights Board.

Upon returning to her practice after a battle with cancer she found a reignited passion for defending civil liberties and the rights and freedoms of Canadians. This has led her to become the official legal counsel for the Peckford Travel Ban Challenge, Tamara Lich, and the Freedom Convoy.

Chipiuk and Grey take a deep dive into some of the information that was kept from the public during the invoking of the Emergencies act and why there is an ongoing inquiry into some of the decisions that were made by the federal government, how the Ontario Provincial Police were incredibly honest and professional in their delivery of evidence, and what the outcomes of the inquiry will be once things wrap up.
