SAN ANTONIO FAMILY ASSOCIATION (SAFA) LED PEACEFUL PROTEST
AGAINST THE SEXUALIZATION OF CHILDREN
(San Antonio, Texas) The San Antonio Family Association (SAFA,) an organization formed in 2011 to protect, defend and promote the family, will be leading a peaceful protest to oppose the ‘Drag Queen Christmas’ event scheduled at the Aztec Theatre, 104 N. St. Mary’s St., on December 13th from 7 to 8 pm. The protest will include participation by a number of Christian and secular groups which seek to express righteous anger for this traditionally adults-only activity which in recent years has become specifically planned to include minors to elicit immoral sexual activity.
“There is no doubt the goal of events like these are opportunities for adults to manipulate children under the guise of innocent entertainment,” says SAFA president, Michael Knuffke. “Our protest will be an effort to remind the LGBT community that while all of us are blessed with free will, it is absolutely unacceptable to include children in any activity in which their innocence is eroded by sexual perversity.”
For over ten years, SAFA has worked specifically to protect young lives by defending the unborn and lifting up traditional family units as models for living life at its fullest. While data proves LGBT lifestyles are unhealthy physically, mentally and spiritually, SAFA board member, Patrick Von Dohlen, emphasizes the importance of the protest during Advent and in preparation for the birth of Jesus, Who is Truth.
“In a city founded, developed and sustained by Christian Truth, we find it especially troublesome the LGBT community and the Aztec Theatre would hold such an event during the season of Christ, coincidentally on the same day President Biden will sign the so-called “Respect For Marriage” Act, and attempt to steal the hearts and minds of our most vulnerable. We must oppose it.”
SAFA board members are recruiting participants to hold signage, pray the gospel and share scripture with drag queen show attendees at the protest. SAFA encourages members of the clergy including the Archdiocese of San Antonio to join them.
“San Antonio residents do not support this activity and the few that do are truly misguided,” states Knuffke. “Now is the time to stand up and reject efforts to normalize the sexualization of children.”
