Constitution of the United States

Another engaging discussion about one of the most important documents in American history: the Constitution. Melissa Brockman, 2022 James Madison Fellow, who is working through her master's Capstone on the Constitution, will present historical background on the Constitution, key debates from the Convention during that hot summer in 1787, main arguments from the Federalists and Anti Federalists during the ratification process, and answer questions about the Constitution's language, intent of the Founders and explain why the Constitution was critical to the creation of our republican form of government. Participants are encouraged to review the Constitution ahead of time.
