Rep. Katie Porter says term 'pedophile' brands someone a criminal because of their 'identity'

Speaking at a House Oversight and Reform Committee hearing Wednesday titled, "The Rise of Anti-LGBTQI+ Extremism and Violence in the United States, California Democratic Rep. Katie Porter said that calling a person a "pedophile" or "groomer" is alleging that they are a criminal because of their "identity."

Porter's comments came after she asked Human Rights Campaign President Kelley Robinson whether Twitter's hateful conduct policy would allow for LGBTQ people to be called "groomers."
