Aaron Dean Trial: LIVE Verdict Watch!

Today we'll be doing a LIVE verdict watch on the Aaron Dean Trial. After closing arguments yesterday morning, the jury deliberated for some 8 hours before calling it a night. The jury is sequestered, and deliberations continue today.

While we await a verdict, I and various guests will review key parts of the trial, including opening statements, the defendant's own testimony, the testimony from the State and defense police policy experts, and the rather horrifically bad closing arguments of each side.

On October 12, 2019, at 2:30AM then Ft. Worth police officer Aaron Dean responded to a call by a concerned neighbor for a welfare check on a home with the front door left open and the lights on.

While investigating around the outside of the home with a flashlight, Dean observed a person with a gun inside the home, just feet away. Dean ordered the person to drop the gun, then quickly fired a single shot. That single shot killed Atatiana Jefferson, who was in the home babysitting her 8-year-old nephew.

Within two days Dean had been charged with murder, and within four he had resigned his position as a police officer.
