Star Wars Obi Wan Kenobi Trends Well Behind Stranger Things and Top Gun Maverick ...So Disney Drops EARLY
After lagging well behind Stranger Things for months, Obi Wan Kenobi faced a bit of an unexpected second challenger this weekend after Top Gun Maverick opened in theaters to massive praise and rapidly increasing box office projections.
Disney pulled the trigger early, releasing Obi Wan at 11pm CST last night after announcing that on Twitter just ONE HOUR before.
I surmise Disney noticed that all their marking efforts were still not making a dent in the show's reach as it continuous languished well behind Stranger Things 4 and Top Gun Maverick may have been the surprise to take away any media oxygen left in the room.
