Odisha: This winter, animals at Nandankanan Zoo receive extra care.

Animals living in Nandankanan Zoo on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar receive particular care for the winter season when the temperature drops across Odisha. The zoo managers have made some extraordinary precautions to give the animals much-needed relief from the bitter weather. Authorities at the Nandankanan Zoo have created special nutritional provisions, gave the chimpanzees plywood and space heaters, and offered blankets for the orangutans to keep them warm. Snakes' rooms have been stocked with paddy straws to keep them warm.
