Winnipeg Police Board Chair Markus Chambers has apologized for "any harmful impact to a community still grieving," regarding previous comments about the feasibility of searching a landfill for the remains of murdered Indigenous women.

The city’s police service has faced consistent pressure from Indigenous leaders to recover the bodies of two Manitoba serial killer victims.

Melissa Ridgen has reactions from the community in mourning.
