Satan seeks the consent of a persons Free will to choose evil in order to have a licit claim of dominion over them; to overcome them by evil. For by their consent they are seduced into the temporal powers of iniquity and by the pride of their will to the eternal recompense they chose; to be separated from the Saving Power of the Cross: Holy Humility.
