Tuna Makes Seagull Her Next Meal

This is the unusual moment when a confused tuna fish accidentally eats a seagull. The tuna has obviously bitten off more than he can chew when he snattched the flapping bird off the water surface. Moments later the bird got a second chance at life, when the tuna spat it out with disgust!

Sailor Robert Llorens Sulivera caught the incredible moment when this tuna accidentally caught a big prey at the port of Gerona. Usually, the normal diet for a tuna fish is a smaller fish, like sardines or occasionally a crab. However, seagulls are never part of that balanced diet and they are not usually on the menu for tuna. Still, that didn’t stop one plucky tuna getting a surprising mouthful of flapping wings!

Footage shows a tuna fish swimming about a bay in Spain and enjoying being fed sardines by tourists in all you can eat buffet port. Suddenly, an opportunistic seagull got intrigued by the sardines buffet so he decided to tag along. The bird wanted to get in on the game and immediately flew down to try and snatch an easy dinner, but unfortunately got its fins turned.

Everything happened so fast, so the hungry seagull got caught up in the moment and received a lot more than he bargained, and so did the tuna fish! Watch as the tuna fish simultaneously swallows both the sardine and the seagull in one huge mouthful bite!

At a surprising turn of events, the seagull gets a second chance at life, when the tuna fish spits the bird back out, seconds later! Apparently seagulls aren’t particularly tasty for the picky tuna fish. This lucky seagull saw to live another day and quickly swam away. Hopefully he has learned his lesson, and he will no longer mess around hungry tuna fish in the future.

It is known that catfish often target pigeons and tiger sharks often snack on baby albatross. However, seagulls have a particularly odd taste, and have never been reported missing to tuna fish. After this unfortunate encounter with death this seagull will think twice about stealing sardines again.
