Ngozi Fulani: What's in Her Name?

We examine the controversy surrounding the decision of Ngozi Fulani to change her name. Our opinion here is that she has done nothing but affirm her identity by changing her name from a name that reminded her of oppression. This does not amount to cultural appropriation.
Bullies have been making attempts to silence her, but our position is that our people must speak up when there is evidence of racism, even circumstantial evidence.
