Several students at a secular college were asked “What is the purpose of life”?

Many answers were given; to be happy, to pursue your dreams, to follow your heart where ever it leads you?

Not one answer that had to do with God, helping others, etc, all the answers had to do with self, what's best for me?

Purpose definition; the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.

The answer lies in the definition itself, “The reason for which something is created”, and The Bible gives us the reason in Rev.4:11

Rev 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

So why did God create you, so you could bring Him pleasure?

So the question is does your life bring God pleasure?

So how do you bring God Pleasure? The answer is found in Psalms 147

Psa 147:11 The LORD takes pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

Fear, you are powerless, you are and forever will be, dependent on someone else for survival.

Hope in His Mercy; God sent His Son into the world and God takes pleasure in all those who put their hope in His mercy.

Thus the Purpose of life is to respond to Gods call, to repent and put your faith in Jesus Christ that is the only thing you can do to bring God pleasure.
