Why WORDS hurt our Feelings?

Why are we hurt by other people's words?

It probably happens to all of us that sometimes we feel bad because of other people's words.

Regardless of whether someone says something by accident or with the intention to hurt, it makes us feel sad or disappointed, sometimes we get angry, sometimes it upsets us...

You all have probably felt that way at some point.

No matter how hard someone's comments strike us and how much they make us feel bad, we can still use this to our advantage.

How?

Those statements are likely to affect us as soon as the comments begin to bother us, we need to examine ourselves and understand what it is that has an impact on us.

For instance; if we feel insecure and someone criticizes us for doing something poorly, it would undoubtedly affect us and make us feel horrible.

On the other hand; if we think we are adequate, we will interpret those same words as instructions to improve.

When we recognize that what bothers us most actually comes from within, we can make changes.

We won't feel awful as frequently, we won't get into fights, and we will develop a different self-image
because of us, not because of others.

The next time you are hurt by someone else's remarks, consider what it is that you secretly believe about yourself that made you feel that way, and modify it so that it does not happen again.

Finding a solution is not difficult, but the challenge is in actually facing it.
