In doing so, Benzema overtook club legend Alfredo Di Stéfano to become the third-highest goalscorer in Real Madrid's history with 309 goals. Carlo Ancelotti's side will find out their Champions League quarter-final opponents on Friday 18 March, with Liverpool, Manchester City and Bayern Munich among the possible rivals.
