Later on, the two discuss the politicization of science that we've been witnessing over the past few decades. Both men contend that, over the course of the past few decades, a vast majority of so-called "scientists" have abandoned the kind of evidence-based science that has been practiced since the Enlightenment, and instead, begun applying a Post-modern/Marxist critique to most of their work, often bending the results of their research in a way that favors certain [Leftist] political viewpoints and agendas.

They speculate that scientists are human beings whose primary interests are to advance their careers and ensure ongoing funding for their work. All areas of science now, even seemingly objective disciplines such as biology and mathematics have been impacted by the "woke" prejudice that's so obviously shining through most research papers published these days, especially in the Earth Sciences.

It seems that the search for "objective truth," which should be the focus of all science, is now taking a backseat to politics.
