Dec. 14, 1962 - Here is a clip from President Kennedy’s address to the Economic Club of New York at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City. In his speech, the President discusses the federal budget for 1964, the possibility of a tax deficit, and possible criteria for new tax legislation. The President also identifies three courses of action for the federal government to confront the country’s economic problems: improve education, expand civilian research and technology, and increase incentives for private expenditures.
