Gibraltar Plane Spotting 4K, with a Visit from a Cessna and a Boeing 737,

Plane spotting at Gibraltar International Airport on 30 May 2022. I started out on the east end of the tarmac, then made my way to the other end to get the take off's of the first two flights that landed. The cessna and the Boeing 737 were special treats to see taxing on the runway after landing, but from my position I couldn't see them come in. The Cessna was not on the schedule so I had no idea it was coming in.

I love how these planes land on a tarmac that is surrounded on all sides by water. This is a must watch to see how close to the water these planes land and take off. There are very few airports in the world like this, that could support commercial airline jets to land and take off under such extreme conditions.

Gibraltar is one of the most dangerous airports in the world because the runway is short, it is surrounded by water on both ends of the tarmac, an international highway bisects the tarmac with cars, bikes and people on foot crossing. The weather caused by the Strait of Gibraltar can lead to brutal crosswinds. The pilots who land here have to be very qualified. Flights to Gibraltar are currently only from the United Kingdom because Gibraltar International Airport is technically a military airport not a civilian one.
