Pro Teaches n00bs: Lesson 22: Rick Grimes 2000

On the newest lesson of Pro Teaches n00bs, Bianca Joins me as we go over a VERY interesting comic with an equally interesting backstory.

Back when Robert Kirkman pitched the idea to Image about The Walking Dead, they didn't see the viability nor success an ongoing Zombie Apocalypse comic could bring. (There was no precedent before hand). So Kirkman claimed "Later on it'll be revealed to be aliens behind it all"...he was, of course, lying through his teeth. By the time Image realized it, the book was a huge success.

Come issue #75 (The last issue without the Skybound Productions logo on the book) and there was a fake ending that had Rick disappear in a ball of light, the re-appear, in color, drawn by Invincible artist Ryan Ottley, waking up in a world where...the ALIENS have made their move! And have resurrected people not only as zombies, but also with super powers too...this only last a few pages.

10 years later, to celebrate things, Skybound releases an anthology series called Skybound X and one of the stories contained was the continuing adventures of this other Rick Grimes in this alien invaded world! And...well...let's just say it does NOT take itself anywhere NEAR as seriously as the original series. But, what do you expect? The notion that ALL that drama, ALL the deaths and misery, EVERYTHING...COULD have just led up to this out of the blue genre changing twist? If this was what Kirkman actually had in mind, this would have been the biggest jump the shark moment in history!

So enjoy as Bianca and I go over this very short but VERY bat-shit insane alternate ending (maybe the UFO Ending LOL) to The Walking Dead!
