The jury in Virginia announced the verdict for the defamation case filed by actor Johnny Depp filed against his ex-wife Amber Heard. The jury found Amber guilty and awarded Depp $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages in his defamation suit.

The Hollywood star Johnny Depp and Amber Heard married a decade ago, and the couple split in 2016. Both of them battled over the domestic violence. Heard wrote an essay for The Washington Post in 2018 and talked about domestic violence without mentioning Depp's name.
The post damaged Depp's public image as he lost work. Both of them battled over domestic violence charges they levied on each other. After six weeks of trials, Depp sued Amber for $50 million in damages for defamation and destroying his career, the accusation of physical abuse, and being hashed out in a courtroom's public spotlight.

The jury found Amber guilty and awarded Depp $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages in his defamation suit. But the jury also found Depp guilty on one count and awarded Heard $2 million in compensatory damages, but they awarded no punitive damage.
