Rosemary Garlic Snowflake Bread

Here is a fun artisan style loaf of bread that you can make to WOW your holiday guests. It is pretty simple and very delicious with it's hints of garlic, rosemary and parmesan. Enjoy. - Michele

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

1 1/2 cups warm water
2 1/4 tsp yeast = 1 pkg
1 tsp sugar
Let proof for 5 mins.
Add:
3 tsp fresh rosemary, minced
1/4 cup parmesan cheese
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp salt
3 1/2 cups flour (add last 1/2 cup by tablespoons, just until dough pulls away from sides of the bowl)
Knead in a stand mixer for approx 3-5 minutes.
Let rise 20-30 mins.
Form dough into a ball and place on parchment lined stone or cast iron pan or dutch oven.
In a small bowl, beat 1 egg and 1 tsp of water for egg wash, brush top of bread roll with egg wash.
Score the loaf with a knife to form a snowflake pattern.
Bake for 30-40 mins or until top is golden.
