Turkeys are known to fight for DAYS (resting only at night)

until one gives up for mating/hierarchy. Their endurance/persistence is remarkable and their wing punches (think Pokemon wing attack lol) are very strong (and can hurt humans) and can often render most other birds or similar sized animals unconscious. That peacock would've been horribly stupid to continue picking that fight, would've gotten beat up for sure.
