Japanese company's moon mission takes off on SpaceX rocket

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from Florida’s Cape Canaveral early on Sunday, December 11, launching a Japanese commercial lunar lander, Hakuto-R Mission 1, as well as NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory’s Lunar Flashlight. The launch took place from pad 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 2:38 am on Sunday. Video recorded by Twitter user @JConcilus at the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse shows the rocket landing in the distance following the launch.
