Huge Reclining Buddha - Wat Mai Pak Bang - Ayutthaya Thailand

Wat Mai Pak Bang was formerly known as "Wat Sakuni Sattharam". Wat Mai Pak Bang is located in the Ayutthaya Province. It’s north of the historical park about 20 minutes.

It’s on the canal bank that joins with the Lopburi river and eventually flows into the Chao Phraya. All of these rivers and canals have significance since the primary mode of transportation used to be via boats. Today people access the temples by roads but in the recent past that was not the case.

The highlights of the temple are an old ordination hall and a huge reclining Buddha. In the last few years a roof has been constructed over the Buddha to preserve it.
