These forgotten weapons are landmines we’re found metal detecting and used in the American Civil War and are a rare part of history that forever changed warfare. They were used by the Confederate Army to halt Union forces from retreats and fortify locations as well from advancing armies. While the modern versions of these weapons have changed over time, the ones used by our military forces of today are used in much the same ways as the confederacy used them.
