Today we're going to talk about what you should drink while fasting and what you shouldn't drink while fasting.

I have done other videos on acceptable liquids while fasting, but I'm always getting new information and updating my videos so you can get the best and most current information.

Keep in mind that calories matter when it comes to fasting. The more calories you consume, the more problems you'll have while fasting.

Drinks not to consume while fasting:
• Bone broth
• Collagen powder
• BCAA
• Coconut water
• Coffee with sugar or flavors
• Pre-workout drinks
• Energy drinks
• Sports drinks
• Commercial electrolyte drinks (electrolyte powder sweetened with a natural sweetener like stevia is fine)
• Soda with artificial sweeteners (sodas with stevia, xylitol, erythritol, or monk fruit are fine)
• Beer and alcohol
• Soy drinks
• Milk
• Drinks with bouillon cubes (if the bouillon doesn't have MSG and maltodextrin, then it's fine to have)

Drinks that are acceptable but may set you back just slightly:
• Bulletproof coffee
• Coffee with a small amount of half-and-half or cream
• Dry wine
• Almond milk (check the ingredients)

Drinks you can have while fasting:
• Water (carbonated water, water with electrolytes, and water with apple cider vinegar, lemon, or lime are all fine)
• Tea
• Black coffee

It's important to consume sea salt while fasting—you can add sea salt to your drinks throughout the day.

You can also take supplements while fasting as long as they aren't protein powders. It can actually be beneficial to take supplements while fasting.
