Daisy 880 vs Ruger Air Hawk Elite II in David vs Goliath type contest

The Ruger Air Hawk Elite II is a spring piston powered .177 air rifle. It weighs eight pounds, and fires even standard Crossman lead pellets at speeds close to 1,000 feet per second. For a pellet gun it is a monster. The Daisy 880 is a pump action air rifle, weighing in at close to two pounds, and fires an alloy pellet about 650 feet per second. Which pellet gun is the most proficient at penetrating an empty steel propane tank? I would not have titled this "David vs Goliath" if that little Daisy couldn't put up a good fight.
