DIY How to Update Kitchen Cabinet Doors & Hinges on a Budget

In this video, I show you how to transform your outdated kitchen cabinets with frames and exposed (semi-concealed) hinges to new cabinet doors with hidden (concealed) hinges.

The cabinets were made by Raywal (great quality) but I did not like the doors or the exposed hinges. So, I measured every door and found a style I liked that had the most doors that would work with my kitchen. I chose Shaker style cabinet doors. Most new doors require that you use hidden hinges however in Canada, no one seems to sell concealed hinges for frame cabinets. I found them online and ordered them through Blum.

It took some time to figure out each cabinet and for the doors that didn't fit the cabinet exactly (I'm talking 1/2" off or so) I modified the cabinet by adding wood or cutting into the frame. Note, I had a couple cabinets where the doors did not touch on the inside frame however I was ok with this as the look overall is 100x better than the old style.

I hope you find this video helpful! I had to MacGyver this one quite a bit so if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out!
