Kaiten were manned torpedoes and kamikaze craft, used by the Imperial Japanese Navy in the final stages of World War II. The Japanese thought the Kaitens had destroyed 30 to 50 ships in Kaiten missions, but in reality, they sunk no ship and they were a huge failure.
