Essentially, both rich and poor people are depleting the earth's resources through the money system that runs under many western countries.
Increasing wealth as an increasing money supply in the economy demands that more factories be built, more deforestation and that the workforce for supplying goods increases, which likely increases the prevalence of unpaid or low-paid labour.

Both rich and poor people are responsible for damage to the environment and thus, climate change.

This occurs because of the ever-increasing money supply in economies like Australia, the US and the UK, whereby debt perpetually increases.
