After months in the pound, and recovery time in Homeward Animal Shelter, Cappuccino is loving his rural life.

Nine-year-old Avery Roseno thinks the world of her new family member.

"We call him 'Cap'. That's his name," Roseno said. "We just call him 'Cap.'"

Cappuccino, or "Cap," as Avery's family calls him, has adjusted to farm life in rural Cass County. But a short time ago, Cap's life nearly ended.

"He is the thinnest dog I have ever seen that was still alive," said Heather Clyde of Homeward Animal Shelter.

Cappuccino had been kept in a bathroom, and hadn't been fed for days.
