Ukraine's Finance Minister has said that West's financial support to the country is "not charity" but "self-preservation". Sergii Marchenko told The Associated Press that the financial support for Ukraine is tiny compared to what developed countries spent during financial crisis of 2008 and COVID-19 pandemic. Marchenko noted that number of Ukrainians living in poverty has "increased drastically".
