Kyrsten Sinema leaves Democratic Party to become independent

U.S. Senator Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona said that she is leaving the Democratic Party to become an independent, just days after Democrats secured a narrow 51-seat majority in the 100-member chamber riven by deep political divisions.
