Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland holds a news conference in Toronto to announce to joint funding of up to $1.5 billion for the expansion and rehabilitation of the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC)'s Bloor-Yonge Subway Station. The federal government is investing up to $500 million for the project. Minister Freeland is joined by federal Infrastructure and Communities Minister Dominic LeBlanc, Ontario Transportation Minister Caroline Mulroney, Toronto Mayor John Tory, and TTC Board chair Jon Burnside. Freeland and LeBlanc face questions from reporters about health care and the ongoing demands from Canada's premiers for more health funding from the federal government.
