Natural Resources Minister Jonathan Wilkinson speaks with reporters in Vancouver as he discusses the details of Canada's critical minerals strategy. The strategy aims to ensure the country's natural resources are developed sustainably, competitively and inclusively, and to improve the resiliency of the critical minerals supply chain in collaboration with key trading partners. The 2022 federal budget committed nearly $4 billion towards a new strategy. The minister is joined by Parm Bains (MP for Steveston—Richmond East), Pierre Gratton (CEO of the Mining Association of Canada) and Sharleen Gale (chief of Fort Nelson First Nation and chair of the First Nation Projects Coalition).
