When we go through suffering and trials as believers we refer to it as being in a "night season." A time of "darkness where there is no light." In the physical realm we experience heartache, and in the spiritual realm we suffer in our spirit. It is double pain and agony.

This morning I read in Exodus 12:41-42, "And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, even the selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of the Lord went out from the land of Egypt. It is a night to be much observed unto the Lord for bringing them out from the land of Egypt: this is that night of the Lord to be observed of all the children of Israel in their generations."

What struck me are the words, "a night to much observed unto the Lord for bringing them out." I began to see all the places in the Bible that the most powerful things happened during the night, and wonderous things in the morning.

I have lived long enough to have gone through the very dark nights that went on for years. But a morning came, and slowly a new day began to take shape. I walked out of prison houses of sorrows I thought would never end. I saw the spiritual night turn into the brilliant shining morning, a new day.

“And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain.” 2 Samuel 23:4.

Keep it in mind and never forget that Jesus never leaves people in the pits of darkness, in prisons of suffering, who call out His name. He WILL deliver them. He has staked His own name on His word because He is the word. Surely He will do as He says. He is the Lord and Savior.

"If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee." Psalm 139:12. ~ King David
