Thomas Hartle is a 54-year-old husband, father, and IT professional who has been dealing with stage 4 colon cancer since 2016. He was the first Canadian to receive a Section 56 exemption to receive psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy which helped him cope with debilitating anxiety about his future and that of his family. He also applied for and was granted access under Canada's recently added SAP or Special Access Program for psychedelic therapy. He has received substantial improvement in his wellbeing and is now an advocate for accessibility of this treatment for others.
Thomas is involved in a court challenge which is being spearheaded by Therapsil, to deregulate psychedelic therapy in Canada.
Therapsil representatives along with patients including Thomas visited Ottawa just a few weeks ago, and Thomas is here with an update tonight on that trip, as well as an update on his current heath and journey with psychedelic medicine
