Activists from ‘Espace pour la vie’ or ‘Space for life’ melted a ‘Polar Bear on Thin Ice’ work of art during the 15th UN Conference on Biodiversity (COP15) in Montreal.
The life-size ice animal containing skeleton parts was created with the hope of raising awareness of the impact of climate change on biodiversity. The artwork will gradually melt away to reveal its bronze skeleton, ‘Espace pour la vie’ organizers say.
