Kate was a devout Mormon who longed to be a mother and rushed into a bad marriage which left her vulnerable and in turmoil.
Confronted with an unplanned pregnancy she felt trapped and feared that she would be forever tied to an abusive man.
Making the decision to have an abortion shook Kate to her core and left her childless and searching.
