Should We Ask For Forgiveness After We Are Saved?

The Bible tells us that if we ask God's forgiveness for our sins then he is faithful to forgive us. However, there is some disagreement on how often we should ask for forgiveness. The typical orthodox position is that Christians should continue to ask for God's forgiveness, even after salvation, while a smaller group of Christians believe we should only ask for forgiveness at the moment of salvation and then after that we never need to ask again.
