Planet Orbiting a Brown Dwarf
7
Brown dwarfs are failed stars. They do not have enough mass to fuse hydrogen like normal, fully functioning stars. These objects fuse the isotope of hydrogen known as deuterium, which gives off some energy but not nearly as much as a regular star. Planets orbiting these objects are painted with their beautiful light and glow in beautiful shades of red and orange. Usually, they are very cold because brown dwarfs do not produce enough energy to keep them warm.
