A jail monitor was kicked to death by a detainee while he was being moved from a cell to a van.

Lorraine Barwell, 54, from Romford, Essex, was kicked over and over by Humphrey Burke, 28, at Blackfriars Crown Court in June 2015.

The principal blow thumped the grandma to her knees and the second cracked her jaw, causing a cerebrum discharge.

'However, when they maneuvered him into the "L" position, he just lifted his head and he kicked her, it was simply speedy.'
