Christophe Poulain du Bignon was a native of Lamballe, Brittany, a much beloved naval captain whose loyalty to Louis 16th in the French Revolution forced him to flee his patrimonial lands. Came to Jekyll Island in 1792 on his ship "Sapelo" The genealogy is available to members of GeorgiaPioneers.com
