US citizen Anne Sacoolas is given an eight month prison sentence suspended for 12 months for causing the death of teenage motorcyclist Harry Dunn in 2019. I always said all she will probably get is a suspended sentence as it will be probably first time offence. You get that meaningless sentence for often such as shoplifting if it’s your first offence. It means very little to most who get it as long as your not daft enough to commit a crime within 12 months as if you do you may go to prison. One suspects this sentence has no meaning as she is in the USA. Just as if a judge in a country that was not the UK passed sentence on me. Why would I care. I do not think (I may be wrong) that the judge can stop her driving in the USA only UK (but I could be wrong). All this seems pointless. But I guess if the family feel they have achieved something then fair enough.
