Daily Prayer

69. Beloved disciples: Practice spiritual prayer on a daily basis, and place therein your sincere intention of perfecting yourselves.

70. Consider this: Besides entering an intimate communion with your Master and experiencing an eternal peace during those moments, it also presents you the best opportunity to receive My divine inspirations; within them you will discover the explanation for all that you have not understood, or have misunderstood. You will find ways to avoid danger, to resolve problems, or to clear up confusion. During that hour of blessed spiritual communication, all your senses shall be illuminated, and you will feel more prepared and inclined to do good.

71. Do not neglect prayer, even if it should be as brief as five minutes. During prayer, be sure to examine yourselves carefully in the light of your conscience, to keep an eye on your actions and, so you will know what you must correct.

72. Should you lose your sense of time while elevating yourselves in prayer, that will be an indication of spiritualization, because, even if only for a few moments, you managed to transcend time; that time which the slaves of materialism use merely for their enjoyments, or to increase their wealth.

73. He who examines himself daily will improve his way of thinking, living, speaking and feeling.

74. I have taught you that, through prayer, you will acquire wisdom, but I do not wish that to be a reason for you to prolong your prayers. I have asked of you five minutes worth of prayer, and by that I mean to say that you must pray briefly, so that, during those moments, you will truly surrender yourselves to your Father. The rest of your time you may dedicate to your spiritual and material duties towards your brethren.

75. I shall now teach you a special way of preparing yourselves, with which will all your daily actions be inspired by noble sentiments, and so the vicissitudes and difficulties will not stop you or force you to back away. When you open your eyes to the light of a new day, pray, come to Me in your thoughts; form a plan for the day, inspired by My light, and rise up to meet the struggle of life head on, determined to be strong and not for an instant violate obedience or faith.

76. Truly, I tell you, before long you will marvel at your fortitude and the results of your works.
