Croatia trained in Doha on Thursday, on the eve of their World Cup quarter-final against Brazil at Stadium 974.

The 2018 runners-up came through a gruelling last 16 tie against Japan on penalties on Monday, their third straight shootout success at a World Cup.

Goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic was the hero between the sticks with three saves.

In the game itself, Croatia had to come back from a goal down after Daizen Maeda had given Japan a 43rd minute lead.

Ivan Perisic got the equaliser ten minutes into the second half - if the 33 year-old Tottenham Hotspur forward finds the net against Brazil, he will overtake Davor Suker as Croatia's leading goalscorer at the World Cup with seven goals.

And it'll be Croatia captain Luka Modric's 160th appearance for his country in an international career that has spanned 16 years.

Modric made his debut against Argentina in a friendly international in March 2006 and appeared at a World Cup for the first time as a substitute against Japan in June of that year in Germany.

The Real Mardid playmaker won a runners-up medal and the Golden Ball for the best individual player at the 2018 World Cup and also won the Ballon d'Or later that year.
